A thread about WYS/SilverAutomatic? I thought everyone stopped caring when his shit got wrecked. Anyway here's a little present that wasn't ready in time, mostly because that little clubhouse circlejerk basically folded within a few days. Mission accomplished.

Shame the site was taken down before the dump completed. It's got most of the posts table but not all of it. Unfortunately, all tables beyond that were not recovered- no private messages, no threads, no user table. Most of the stuff leaked in October was captured directly.

If you want it in a more traditional form, install and set up myBB, import the SQL file (you may need to use the console or phpmyadmin). The WYS theme was blackevo4 if anyone wants a more authentic look and feel. This is also stripped of most cruft and empty tables, so apply it to a freshly built myBB DB. It will not work from an empty database, as well as a few cheap workarounds to deal with missing data.

Username/password is WYS/lol. You'll need to clear the forum's caches/optimize the database in the admin control panel before everything starts behaving. Apollo/Henri Watson's posts will show up as WYS due to the account renaming.

Just a warning, this is mostly boring shit that nobody should care about. Maybe there's some juicy stuff in here, but it's most likely as much a waste of time as WYS itself was.

The user ID thing: did they really think they could outsmart lulz with shit like that? I mean, those people breathe HTML and shit screencaps. That's their bread & butter. Being clever isn't a substitute for common sense. Thinking you're more clever than you are is great entertainment for the rest of us, though.

The userID thing wasn't an attempt to trick lulz, but to trick silver into banning someone else by getting him to think that the framed person was the one doing the leaks.

And it worked.

But from what I remember, the "infiltrators" weren't from lulz themselves, they just did the dump on lulz because it's the only place such information can be easily decimated without repurcussion, and still get plenty of reads.

I'm gonna guess that embedding user IDs in the HTML of the site was the brainchild of Henri Watson. Whoever the infiltrators were picked up on that right away, and instead of just deleting the info, instead changed it to the ID of another user, who was then banned.

This is actually a pretty good illustration of Henri's juvenile bullshit: he gets about 20% of this stuff right. I guess if you're trying to identify leaks, then yes, you put identifying info in the leaks, but Christ man, you don't not only make the information obvious but also falsifiable.

Like I said, the kid just repeats shit he reads on the Internet without any understanding of it whatsoever. Sometimes it's just harmless and annoying, and other times, like this, it results not only in failure but in additional undesired things happening.
