So the latest in furry drama is that superstar artist
Spunky has had her art
traced/copied/imitated, among other things. The
tracer and tracee are currently enmeshed in the biggest instance of doghead-girl-on-doghead-girl violence since the days of Huskie.
OK, maybe not. Currently they're making some effort to work it out, as Spunky made it perfectly clear that the last thing she wants is drama and the like. Fine. Still, this leaves the big question as why the person who did the tracing bothered in the first place. Tracing is almost useless as a method of actually learning how to draw, and people can spot it a mile away. Furries hate this sort of thing, to put it
mildly. Their overreactions to and displays of paranoia over "art theft" are the stuff of legend. So why do it, especially if you're not trying to start shit?
I suspect a "they really are that stupid" answer is in order. And that is pretty fantastic.
