Tucson is the new source of pedo-creepy in the fandom, it seems. Ted "Lil Hitler" Sheppard was arrested for uploading kiddie porn in December.

It also seems that Mr. Sheppard was the person to whom Jim Groat gave his weapons stash, to hide them from that pesky divorce judge's prying eyes.

Maybe Ted, Beiro, and Frank Gembeck can start up a prison zine, hand drawn on toilet paper?

In November 2013, the Tucson Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit received a tip from the
National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in reference to an unknown person uploading child pornography in
the Tucson area. An investigation was initiated which led officers to a residence in the 1600 block of West Woodbridge
Court. On December 11, 2013, a search warrant was served at the residence with assistance from the U.S. Marshals.
Evidence was located that implicated the sole resident as the suspect involved in the uploading of child pornography.
 
During the service of the search warrant, detectives located a large amount of weapons and numerous potential explosive
devices inside the home. Detectives from the Organized Crime Unit as well as ATF personnel responded to assist and
the investigation into the weapons is ongoing at this time.
 
The suspect in this incident was identified as 46-year old Ted Sheppard. He was booked into the Pima County Jail for 10
counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

At this point, I'd have to wonder what's on Groat's hard drives.

I mean, three people he associated with and claimed to "found the fandom with" have gone down for KP.  Two of them are part of his old crew.

And he gave his weapons to the last one.

Actually, the only known gun of Jim's was the Sten (but it's a federally registered gun - can't sh*t around with that) - Ted owned MANY guns & explosive devices - including at least 1 machine gun & 1 sub-machine gun.

That is... an item of contention.  If he did transfer them, he's contradicting himself to Rebekah & the court.  If he did not, then he's lying to the court.  If he did ANYTHING without correcting his federal paperwork, he's in deep shit with the ATF.

Although both came completely out of thin air, I do wonder if the arrests of Biero and Sheppard are connected somehow. You don't just get two similar cases out of nowhere from the same location and social group and well within a year of each other.

Like Frank Gembeck, the guy seemed to have mostly drawn very bland stuff. I won't deny that's not what I would have expected for a kiddy-diddler. Someone like Addlesee I could see more into that.

I like to imagine manchildren of Groat's caliber are monitored very closely by someone in the alphabet soup agencies. He basically does nothing but amass weapons, rant about everything under the sun, and try to cheat everyone around him. Maybe just as a kind of known honeypot where they can gather up other beardos and monitor just how much kiddy porn they have.

Like, the only good thing to come of the police-state monitoring.
