Wandered out of the Friday night dance at Further Confusion around 1:15 to restock my bloodstream alcohol supply.  I made it to the party floor to find it'd been closed by staff due to some behavior they wouldn't comment on right then.  Moved along and didn't think anything more of it until the next day, when I found a circulating vague rumor that someone'd died.  By Saturday evening when the flyer above was posted the rumors had consolidated a bit to state that one young congoer expired from snorting oxycontin and another was sent to a hospital.  Most of us had seen the paramedics and police, they'd arrived late Friday and returned Saturday evening.  Some claim to have seen one of the particpants carried out on a gurney under a sheet.  Official convention word is that everyone is all right with no further details.  Rumors may be nothing more than that.  No one's offered any names.

Also I'm not so sure I'd compare this so readily to the "Tumbles" incident.  He was some dipshit attention whore who tried to hurt himself for, well, attention.  This was a couple of idiot kids who, in all likelihood, tried some E once, figured they were 'hardcore', and then read something on the Internet about snorting Oxy.  After all, it's legal pharma so it can't possibly hurt you, right?

Without names attached to the rumor, it's very unlikely anything fatal happened. When a furry dies, usually name spreads quickly but is forgotten in a week. For example, nobody has yet to call me out on having a dead furry's 'image' as an avatar.

Ravers, you know.  They'll eat fuckin' anything.  The other kid was just in for alcohol poisoning.  Anyway, I'm sure their friends will eventually let it slip who it was and what the circumstances were -- not likely they were anyone important like Nik Vulper's underage fuckbuddy was, no one has any reason to .  If someone died I expect there'd already be an extremely retarded sort of memorial/crusade on the LJ.

Bobby, LJ superstar and center of the furry universe when it comes to reporting on fantastic drama, made a post about this recently over on said LJ.  Looks like it was just the furry rumor/paranoia mill running wild with speculation.

Besides, as was mentioned previously, if someone actually -had- died, no amount of "EVERYTHING IS FINE NOTHING IS BROKEN THIS IS NORMAL" fliers from FC staff could keep it quiet for this long.  There'd be some terrible and embarrassing LJ/FA/Youtube 'tributes' and much BAWWing.

Oh well, there's always next year!

Thats would explain the apparent suicide for such a promising actor... spent a night in a hotel with a furry con. That could make anyone want to kill themselves.
