FA recruiting new admins... again
« on: November 03, 2012, 01:33:27 pm »
Not really interested in that, I am interested in the form they put up: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dG5yZ0szejN2QTlrRDNTajNoNTlLQUE6MQ

Let's look at excerpts from google's abuse program:

Quote
Sexually explicit material

Don’t publish sexually explicit images or videos, such as those with nudity or graphic sex acts. Writing about adult topics is permitted as long as they aren't accompanied by sexually explicit images or videos, or any material that promotes or depicts unlawful or inappropriate sexual acts with children or animals. Additionally, we don't allow content that drives traffic to commercial pornography.

Child safety

Because of the gravity of the issue, we repeat that we don't allow materials that promote or depict unlawful or inappropriate sexual acts with children or animals. Google has a zero-tolerance policy against child pornography. If we become aware of child pornography on our properties, the content will be removed and we will report it and its owners and purveyors to the appropriate authorities. This means that you can't use our services to create, possess, or distribute child pornography, and you can't use our services to create a gallery of children's pictures with sexually explicit commentary, for example.

Sadly the report site defaults to my native language, which isn't English, so I can't provide a direct quote. It clearly mentions however, that refernces to CP, bestiality and incest are forbidden. Furaffinity doesn't ban the latter two and CP is insanely easy to find there as well.

Seems like some furries, as usual, didn't do their homework.

Wait, are you saying since they put a form up as a Google doc which happens to refer to FA, this should actually matter?

The form itself doesn't refer to any of those things...

Maybe I'm not understanding you.

I'm enjoying the part about how they won't release the admin code of conduct until after the new hires are made. Because if there's anything you don't want applicants to know before they apply, it's the expectations of the job.

The document neither mentions, nor links to, any of those things. It's irrelevant.

The journal does seem to have been updated with a description of what they'll be doing.

we are opening up to two dozen new admin positions... We expect admins to handle a minimum of 40 tickets per week...

Assuming this actually happens, they might finally have a chance of working off the ticket backlog. I wonder if it was Weasyl that prompted this sudden effort to get things into shape.

Willing and able to dedicate 10-20 hours per week to administrative duties.

10+ hours for 40 tickets?

And finally:

Must not be actively staffing on other art communities.

* Required
Of course, every single item is marked with an asterisk...except "Admin/Moderator History". Because they wouldn't be looking for admins who are actually used to enforcing rules fairly, smoothly dealing with recalcitrant users, and so forth, oh no.
