Censorship or something - furries being furries
« on: July 12, 2012, 12:46:07 am »
This appeared in my inbox. (I've forgotten why I have this person on my watch list, but whatever.)

Third-grade level understanding of politics (especially foreign affairs - all censorship is apparently SOPA/PIPA), impromptu suggestions of VPNs, TOR and proxies by people who only have half a clue what any of those are (seriously what is it with furries and interjecting to suggest tech solutions to any perceived problem at all), and random impotent complaints about the government abound, none of which is out of the ordinary for furries, but this guy stood out for me.

this comment is really just amazing in it's ... horse shit. Seriously if you don't like america get the fuck out.

and I can tell you and him to go kill yourselves if you're that hard up on hating america will end your problem.

I don't think I've ever seen someone recommend suicide as a solution to the problem of feeling unable to adequately express a political opinion and thus developing a sense of mistrust towards the elected government as a result. Classy.

I like how Wolfy doesn't present a single source. No link to a news site, not even to a hypothetical press release of his government, nothing. Rules out educated discussion from the get go.

If I had to guess technocentrist worldviews are common among subcultures with a high nerd concentration.

The dude's Russian. Granted, he was probably born after the disbanding of the USSR, but Russians tend towards paranoia when it comes to surveillance, and not without reason.

Yes, it looks excessive from our perspective. But to him, plus any language barrier that might exist, it isn't really.
Can it be this sad design
Could be the very same
A wooly man without a face
And a beast without a name
