Furries on "Taboo"
« on: January 06, 2012, 12:21:46 pm »
Furries were recently featured on National Geographic's "Taboo".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYwEYOP_BVQ

Other than giving the editors a reason to use tracks from the "Overly happy and bouncy" production music CD, it's Yet Another Furry Interview, complete with the "IT'S NOT ABOUT SEX" angle and the best of the worst Fursuits.

Discuss.

And, of course, all the OMG THIS SOOOOO ISN'T WHAT FURRIES ARE whining in the comment section.
I don't like to hit little bitches with glasses, but when midgets step up, I stomp midget asses.

Some of my favorite comments:

True dat, man! =w= Fuckin' media gives us a fuckin' bad reputation and da worst thing is dat stupid ppl swallow everythin' media says just 'cuz it's in da media. HELLO! If y'wanna know wut a furry is, ask a furry!

Keeeerist could they not find any *decent* costumes to interview? Where's the clockwork creatures that can actually walk down the street and draw looks of curious awe rather than derision at disgusting candy hued derps?

And over busty toon art?

No tasteful nudes? No Rukis, Dark Natasha, or the like?

Come on; they claim to be unbiased toward the fandom but every time I see these interviews, even if they claim to paint the culture in a neutral light, I'm left just groaning.

Oh god not this again....I wonder when the news and such people will end up leaving us alone and get bored of all this crap?

there is one thing ite about shows like this one, the guys (scientists?) who speak, i dunno how to explain it , is like they think they know everyting about it and think that this people have a problem and try to explain it

I knew they were going to get into the, negative side. Obviously. 6.40 - She made a mistake. See Kage's panel on dealing with the media.

I have a theory that History Channel, TLC, National Geographic, and Discovery are all slowly becoming the same station.
Can it be this sad design
Could be the very same
A wooly man without a face
And a beast without a name

TLC is already owned by Discovery.
