The gist of it is that she gets or got into lots of silly dumb slapfights (some of which no doubt resulted in that article) and is or was fairly unstable.

I'd say "how is this any different than normal FA behavior", but it does seem restricted to one gallery (out of my extremely thorough sample of: one other gallery).

Given past actions, reactions and general history of how they handle things. This is OBVIOUSLY a sign of data corruption and they will immediately go out and buy another $2000 worth of hard drives.

I'm surprised they haven't done that already, seeing as their current drives are supposedly well past their estimated lifetime.

There is; in Pidgin under User Info for a buddy there is a "Member since: " field. On my computer, it does not show for the screen name 'themightyphallus' for whatever reason. Perhaps "new" accounts do not show it.
