FurNation owner/administrator Nexxus has officially left Second Life and given the title of FN's game land to local celebrity Corsi. The transfer was completed last night, ending any visible influence Nexxus has on FurNation Worlds. The message was mailed to all members of the FurNation community:
Hello all.
Tue Nov 27 23:26:30 2007
I have transfered ownership of the FurNation Community Group to Corsi Mousehold. It has been a pleasure to have started and maintained the largest single group in SL. Corsi will be a fine owner of the group, and I am sure he will run it well.
I will make one last announcement tonight before I finalize the transfer of FurNation Prime to its new owner. Thanks for your time.
Years of complaints levied against Nexxus over the years --
credible and documented -- supposedly prompted the release of power. Nexxus banned himself from most areas of FurNation in a show of good faith: "I no longer have ANY power of any land in FurNation Worlds, nor can I get into any area except for th Pony Club and the Luxor in Prime (I am estate banned from all sims). [...] The estate ban is so that no sim owner can accuse me anymore of trying to take over their sims, or making any changes to the estate controls. I set it myself before I left all the groups." He later confirmed that a fight had broken out and drama had occured with the statement that "There is NO drama here." Any fears that furries would be allowed to regain independant thought were later allayed by Corsi:
Status of FurNation Worlds in Second Life.
Tue Nov 27 23:54:01 2007
As it stands as most of you have heard, Nexxus is leaving Second life. However I am not. Neither are the other sim Owners. furNation Worlds will still be here. We will still support the furry community. We will still be hosting the most trafficed furry sims in Second Life. We wil continue to provide you the places like The Ark and the Sandboxes, The Luxor and the Pony Club. Club Fur and the FurNation Mall are not going anywhere. Nothing is going to change. We will always be here for you.
A series of transactions through March, April, and May transferred
a number of sims to Corsi which gave him control over most of FurNation by last summer, yet through Corsi, Nexxus maintained de-facto control over the area. What this means is that we don't count on Nexxus really being out of everyone's business for good, and that these people desperately need a hobby outside of virtual Machiavellian pre-teen animal person chess.
