HARRISBURG, Pa. -- A former member of an Allegheny County state legislator's staff allegedly had computer chats with a teenage boy about dressing in animal costumes and having sex, Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett said. Alan David Berlin worked in the Senate about a decade, including the last several years with Sen. Jane Orie, R-McCandless, who said Berlin "was immediately and indefinitely suspended" with no pay or benefits when she learned of the allegations.

Berlin, 40, of Carlisle, allegedly used the chat name "alan_panda_bear" and talked about various sex acts with the teen, including the idea of traveling to Harrisburg and having sex in the boy's back yard while his parents slept, Corbett said.

"Berlin is also accused of attempting to arrange a meeting between the boy and another adult, and offered to get them a hotel room if Berlin could take photos of them having sex," according to the criminal complaint, Corbett said.

The boy's parents contacted authorities after finding sexually graphic messages on his computer, Corbett said.

Okay now this is the kind of person that should be prosecuted and sent to jail.

Also loving the implied connections between a freak wanting to pork an underage boy and the premier furry convention, just weeks before it happens.  The only thing that could make this better is if it somehow results in, say, the convention center being pressured into dropping the con.  Or better yet, a tip that the "other adult" mentioned in the OP is attending, resulting in a police raid during said con.

I have seen some Twitter whispers that furry (babyfur?) opinion of this guy has shifted from "no true Scotsman" to the idea that one of the tribe is being persecuted. I don't really know any more than that, other than to wonder if now that the animal people aren't feeling the pressure to assert this is not behavior endemic to the subculture (from within - ie. Doc Conway, and without) - that they are now feeding their persecution complex with this guy.

Just wanted to follow up with you, Footman was actually banned a while ago for other reasons but PolarinXAngel has just been banned for those comments. I will leave the comments on that journal as proof for future reference, thank you for your report.

gotta admit, the speed with which that ticket was handled far exceeded my nearly non-existent expectations. about 1 day for it to be handled, excluding the few hours i had to wade through footman#####'s nasty journals to find a link, since they don't accept screenshots anymore.
