They once removied a pic by FA artist Fluffball from the site (and suspended her as well) because of content; she posted this picture (direct link for non-FA members) of a half-naked Kagome and Inuyasha in a loving embrace after the end of the Inuyasha manga.  Why was it deleted?  Because they forbid pornographic depictions of underage characters, and they also (at one time; I have no idea if this policy is still in place, but knowing DA, it probably is) forbid artists from "aging up" characters to get around that rule.

While Kagome was depicted as a 15-year-old for every chapter of the manga but the last one, the last chapter of the manga fast-forwarded things three years, making Kagome an 18-year-old; it was the 18-year-old Kagome that Fluffball was depicting in the image.  But DA still disallowed the image because the character was technically depicted as a minor for 99.9% of the manga (and the entirety of the anime).  Yes, DA essentially overrode the Word of God in relation to Inuyasha (according to their policies, official story "epilogues" don't count), and they called Fluffball's image "child pornography" to boot.  Fluffball left DA for good after her suspension was lifted.

That horrible image you linked to getting a Daily Deviation?  It saddens me, but it really doesn't surprise me, knowing just how stupid DA's admins are.

I can't lie about the Anthro Gallery. There are many themes, some innocent, some silly, and some not so innocent. But does that give a right to discriminate? To be politically correct, no. Our job as Gallery Moderators include featuring what represents our galleries. And while some are reluctant to admit that fandom and fetishes reside in Anthro, you can't deny that it is still there. After all, this is DeviantART, a place to express yourself, and sometimes Deviate from the norm.

So today, I deviated from the norm. SO WHAT. Look through my DD Archive if you insist, I'm trying to represent what is really there. Not every theme in Anthro is going to be your cup of tea; not every theme in Anthro is my cup of tea. Opinions are like Ass-holes, we all have them. So regardless of opinions, I'm here to feature art.

But because I care about community input, I had asked several members of the Anthro community in #IamAnthro about this piece, and the decision was unanimous. Tongue-in-cheek it may be to some, it's still a great piece of artwork that deserved a feature. :heart:

I can't say I disagree with him, fully. He's chosen as a rotating DD'er for the express reason to keep a bit of anthro in the subject, and this obviously caught his attention. Overall, there are plenty of worse furry fetish artists than Kazecat, and he's gotten better. This is probably one of his better pieces, but as long as it's halfway decent, I suppose that works. Just as long as no almost-porn poser crap gets a DD, things should be fine.

Remember, dA was always 75% shit masquerading as something else, something higher. DD isn't as big of a deal as it once was either.

I dunno if that's really a good enough reason to leave dA forever... especially in favor of a place like FA. I haven't read the manga and I've only seen a few episodes of the anime, so I wouldn't know how appropriate/inappropriate that image is. Also this DD, it's just something stupid and not something imma rage over.
