I'm going to come right out and say it - I'm a furry. I'm not here to troll, or harrass, or flame. I _like_ you guys. You showcase everything that is wrong with furries, and everything I want to change. If anything we need more sites like this.

I used to be a fucktard. I'll say that right away too. I used to think that every single person who expressed negative things about the furry fandom was a troll and an "anti-furry" who should have been burned with a flamethrower at two years old. That was years ago, though, and beleive me - it's possible for people to change. I have.

Many times I've delved into the darker side of the internet and found things that I didn't like. Not just about furries - about almost everything. And I slowly learned that screaming, yelling, and generally making myself a total tard wasn't going to change or stop anything. I learned that doing that only makes things worse - that nobody is going to listen to you, and you're going to be labelled as an idiot and ignored.

I have successfully learned that people have a right to their own opinions, no matter how much I disagree with them - even if I think that they're generalizing, generalizations have their uses. And honestly? I can completely understand where many of the users on this forum are coming from - you would rather expect the worst and be surprised. Now? I do too. I expect to run into furry idiots all over the place now. I _expect_ to see the shithole that is - was - the furry fandom all around me. And oftentimes? I am surprised. Oftentimes I am not. It's a mixed bag.

So yeah. I suppose the point of this post is basically to say this: People can change. I certainly did.

This is the part where we play the "You lose" clip from The Price Is Right.

Read the rules and come back in a week.

Unless you have a story to tell you don't need an introduction post.

Looks like a story to me.  Easy with the ban function there, skippy, introduction posts aren't even bannable offenses.  Christ.

Not as if anyone believes me, but I'm hardly so negative as to expect crap and want to be surprised.  Instead I expect retarded crazy and I'm happy when I get it.  It's kind of what the modern subculture is built on, and it's sexy.

They should be. Or at least they should be grounds for a good thrashing.

Maybe if I make friends with trolls I won't be trolled!

Clearly this man is on to us.

I really only have one part of this to comment on, primarily because the rest is just golfcarts.

I have successfully learned that people have a right to their own opinions, no matter how much I disagree with them

No. There are a great many people who do not have a right to their opinion, because they come up with things like this:
Quote from: IRC
<+Ayrlah> there's a fininate number of numbers between 1 and 0.999999999 of all fractions as well
<+Ayrlah> there is, because at some point, people will stop making fractions!@
And when it's pointed out that they're pretty far off the mark, their response is "well it was just my opinion." Opinion is not justification for being stupid.

I think you're on to something there, Donut.  That's exactly what started happening on a certain other forum, and there was nobody around to keep it in check.  Now it's more of a forum for furries, rather than a forum about furries.  You see why I'm such a dick to newcomers?  If their skin is so thin they can't take a little anonymous internet criticism, they probably don't belong here.

At any rate, he's no longer banned, so he's totally free to try defending himself here, but something tells me he's not going to bother.  Or if he does, it will be the same incomprehensible furry bullshit they spout everywhere else about acceptance and so on.

So go on, cry your little tears of ultimate sadness, and schlep on over to that other forum.  They're all about the "if I make friends with the bullies, they won't bully me any more" mentality over there, and will welcome you with the murry purry arms and scritches you're used to.

No. There are a great many people who do not have a right to their opinion, because they come up with things like this:

I hate to burst your bubble, but someone else's opinion is not your domain to regulate, and while I agree with your general sentiment, suggesting that anybody doesn't have a right to think their own thing seems to be pretty hypocritical given the nature of this forum.

Maybe that's not convenient for you, but that's your problem to cope with, because if you can justify taking away one person's freedom of thought/speech, then someone else can justify taking away yours or mine, and that cannot be tolerated.

That's right, it's my domain.

Fucking Lion King people.  All you people who've named yourselves Simba and call your computers Nala, you're off on some other planet.  Thoughts just don't work the same way over there.

Other People's thoughts don't need to work the same way as yours. A world where everyone thought the same things would be nightmareishly boring. Does individuality offend you?

Other People's thoughts need to work at all. In a world where everyone thought they could excuse their inept babbling by claiming it to be mere opinion, things would be ... I'm not sure how to describe it other than "fucking stupid". Does intelligence and the preference for coherent dialogue offend you?

Not at all, I agree with you! One of the rental guys I work with at con said it well I think, when he sarcastically asked "Isn't it great to be surrounded by experts?".
