Second Annual FurAffinity/Anthrocon Grudge Match

Every summer, between the events of Anthrocon and those of FurAffinity: United, the staff and members of FurAffinity participate in a flame war against the staff of Anthrocon.  In the first annual event convention chair Shy Matsi claimed, in a number of friends-locked and now deleted entries, that Anthrocon staff was at fault for the many cases of HIV that were caught at the convention.  Of course no one caught anything at the con, backlash from the attempted character assassination landed on FA staff, and Shy Matsi retracted everything in this entry.

This summer, FA staff (particularly head manchild Preyfar/Dragoneer) is attempting to trash Anthrocon's reputation by focusing on a number of comments which AC director Giza left on Nothingkat's Noble Furry Award for June 2008.  Giza (with Bobby and Nothingkat and many others) savages Preyfar's claim to be a "community leader" -- considering he pulls that phrase out most often when he attacks other porn hosting admins in some sort of cartoon gang rivalry.  Preyfar claims he "was disappointed by the act of maturity on Giza's behalf."  This is confusing as one expects a community leader to use the correct words when he describes something, also as Preyfar has been leaving comments in the thread and immediately deleting them then pretending he never left them.  Passive-aggressive character assassination is a running theme for Preyfar, stretching back years and years:

Preyfar claims Giza has had personal drama with him for years and that this is the explanation for having his own opinion.  In reality most everyone who has known Preyfar in real life has personal issues with the man, much as everyone in Pennsylvania did, hence the PA community avoiding his irritating self.  A former member of Anthrocon comments on Preyfar's very short stint as staff at the convention, back when the Adam's Mark was still in operation: "Giza hates Preyfar so much because Preyfar worked for Giza in Anthrocon ops one year and was so obnoxiously annoying the entire time that he was kindly asked by the entire staff not to come back."  Ex-staff state that Preyfar is "one of those people who babbles so constantly you want to beat him to death just for the silence."

Most furries don't much care for one side or the other and declare that they go to conventions for the people and events, not for the staff.  Which must be a burn on FA's convention.  FA users mysteriously loyal to the porn site vow never to attend AC.  Cesarin for one steps in to declare that he himself is a massive tool: "I wondering if Giza's power position, makes him feel... hmm... worried about how big is furafifnity becoming"

So there was a scuffle between digimon dumbfuck #445 and macrophile faggot #629 and they've basically let this and other meaningless bullshit cause their larger cons to somehow come to blows... despite the fact that a good 20% of AC attendees also head out for FA:U, and 80% of FA:U attendees are meandering furries who have shit-all to do with the site and it's drama?

Beautiful. The future chair of AC and the current shitbog captain of FA:U letting egos try to influence otherwise perfectly complacent nerds to go to battle against one another. Next they'll seek sponsorships by rival console developers just to up the ante.

From what I heard, Preyfar is about as useful as Shy Matsi is sharp-witted. Still, even when yucking it up for stories to fellate Bobby's quest for drama, Giza should know better. I've met the man, and he seems fairly intelligent and not-as-drama-prone as most furries. He's slow to anger, probably the only thing holding Kage back from ordering 'ghosts' get gulaged each year. What we need to do is conscript Triggur to head a con. He has the balls to knock off the bullshit, even if he doesn't have balls per se.

Anyway, the FA guard is currently stuck on the problem of who started the most drama and who's the most mature, as solving this problem would certainly determine which convention is superior.  Illiteracy strikes rampant as the users focus on Giza and his supposed five year grudge rather than the actual allegations of misconduct against Preyfar.  All taking the admin's words as canon, of course.  He writes:

Curiously what he deleted was not a response to Giza, but one to Bobby.  In a thread about Preyfar's vital and important tech support of Operation Enduring Freedom and the amazing funding of FA, he replies:

FA doesn't run me into the ground financially or emotionally. Considering how much money I make, being out of work doesn't impact me whatsoever.

This post made out of frustration clearly flies in the face of his repeated claims that FA is labor and a sacrifice done out of the pure goodness of his heart for "the community."  Tens of thousands of dollars in donations made to his for-profit corporation plus requests for donated servers on Furry Digg and now this message, these together must question his clams of altruism and martyrdom.  But Preyfar didn't post about it on the FA forums, so, it doesn't exist.

Giza should have known better but it's difficult for me to fault someone in the face of such idiocy.  Someone goes and buys his own furry convention because he was so insufferable that he was kicked out of Anthrocon?  I'd wave it around, too.  In fact, I just did.
