I've actually been friends with people over the years who have had experiences like this.  Canada likes tourists, it just wants them to actually be tourists.  We don't want you to 'visit' and then attempt to 'stay' or then attempt to immigrate.  That's something you apply for and do the paperwork for BEFORE entering Canada.  So some of the situations I've been privy too...

CBSA: "Reason for entering Canada today?"
Person: "Imma moving to Canada to live with my internet girlfriend forever and ever! :3"
CBSA: "Do you have your immigration forms with you?"
Person: "What are those?"
CBSA: "So, we're gonna put you back on the next plane to the United States now."

CBSA: "Reason for entering Canada today?"
Person: "I'm a Canadian citizen, I've spent the last six months living with my American girlfriend in the United States but my time has run out.  Now we're coming to Canada and we'll figure out the immigration thing while visiting."
CBSA: "And you're bringing a U-Haul with all of this American's worldly possessions and even towing their car behind it?"
Person: "...Yes?"
CBSA: "So, only one of you can enter Canada today, the other gets to drive back to Arizona.  Guess which one is which."

And watching more of this show, it seems a lot of people put no thought or effort into immigration, not even illegal immigration, they just think they can show up in Canada and 'figure it out' while 'visiting'.

I had to torrent both seasons of this show now and I can't stop watching. :(

I guess it just goes to show how desperate people, like these Floridian animators, are for income.

Well, they ARE animators afterall.  They're basicly guns for hire, assuming your cheque doesn't bounce.

I never liked the idea of mixing human and anthro characters.  But that's just personal taste.

If someone can do a quality furry production that's actually interesting, he does have one thing going for him: He has absolute zero competition from anywhere else in the fandom.  You would hold a literal furry animation monopoly.

There's a few cheap flash porn animation DVDs but nothing that would ever compete with a real series.  You could make a lot just marketing to the furry fandom cause there's nothing else in that catagory that they'd buy.  Though hopefully he has higher aims for that.

I think he just copy pasted Fchan's DNP list, cause he wants to put any comissions by him there.

To clarify: I'm looking for a quick popularity boost on a very tight budget. I can't help the fact that you don't want art made by you to be posted on even the most common of furry art sharing mediums.

What's worse?  That what he said is utterly stupid or that it's actually true that getting artists to draw their fursona well and making the image well known, is instant furry popularity points?  God forbid that furries become popular on actual MERRIT, right?  I mean, that just couldn't happen.  It wouldn't!  If someone tried, imagine every molicle in your body stopping instantaniously and the entire furry fandom exploding at the speed of light!

So, it looks like he wants a list of comissioners who are not on the DNP list just so he can feel free post them anywhere online without getting banned.  Of course, he couldn't word it like that, after all, he's a furry, so it had to sound more like Nixon's Enemies List. :/

God I hate the furry fandom.

What's worse is, when ever a furry forum brings up the obligatory 'Bestiality' thread, it's always the same damn thing.  Three guys are like 'DOG FUCKING!  HELL YEAH!'.  One one guy is like, 'You sick freaks!'.  Everyone just goes 'I don't think it's wrong if you don't act on it, but even if you did, I don't think people should judge each other!'

And... This is about the time when I get that feeling that goes 'Normally, when you think that everyone is crazy but you, that means you're the crazy one' and I start feeling sick.

You might be too far into the fandom when: You need to hide what you do in it from other people.

Well, I did say 'if'.  The furry fandom is not all that known for unique usernames afterall.

He could be french.  I realize you're on Anthrochat, but if that's the same 'DarkFox' that's logged into Furnet, he's in Quebec Canada and could just have no idea what's going on because the bot speaks about the same quality of English as he does.

I can't decide weather it's the photo or the painting where he looks MORE like a douche bag...

Damn, now the furries are going to steal jobs from bots.

...Well, at least they'll start having jobs...

Some furries just take this thing too seriously.  ...Okay, MOST do.  I'm a 'furry' but I define furry as anyone that participates in the furry fandom.  (Which, BTW, is a fucking AWESOME thing to say when some fucktard goes 'Ppl kant even define what a 'furry' is!'.  Sure, if it particpates in the fandom, it's a furry.  If it doesn't, it's not.  Oooo, so hard.

Ahem, anyway, the pride thing boggles me.  Maybe it's cause I don't see the furry fandom as some magical circle of murrific friends.  It's a source of interesting art and comics, I'm a fan of that stuff, I think it's interesting.  ...I also think that only like 5% of it is interesting and this rest is crap, but that's my problem. :/  Furry isn't a fucking 'lifestyle' unless you think that god ment for you to be born a tiger and it's your whore of a mothers fault that you were born into an inferior hyuumin body or other crazy shit like that.  However we have another word for that; 'Schizophrenic'.

The furry fandom would be a lot more fun if it wasn't so crazy and if the furries didn't realize that the 'fursicution' isn't ligitimate.  Most people don't hate furries.  Hell, most of the general population has no idea what a furry is.  But some people online know damn well that if you say 'Yiff in hell furfag' you'll make a few furries go utterly berzerk.  It's entertaining.  It's just one group of internet nerds pissing off another group of internet nerds, it goes back to a long tradition of internet nerds fighting other internet nerds for no reason other than to make someone pissed off.  Why else do Christian IRC channels get raided with people claiming there is no god?

I wanna feel bad for thinking it could be BS, but when so many furries cry 'suicide' online, it's hard to take the real ones seriously

So, after saying he got drugged, he decides to promote alcoholism?

Can I drug him with propecia and minoxidil now so he'll grow some damn hair?

I fell into the mistake of being too trusting to people I didn't know. This isn't the fandom that it used to be. It's a mistake to simply trust someone who calls themself a fur these days.
Cause, previously, you could always unquestionably trust someone based on their fandom, sexuality, relegion, line of work or any other allegence, without possibly getting bitten in the ass for it.

It's becoming a real problem in the fandom, and is probably a result of the gay and raver night club scenes converging into the fandom.
Wait, what?  Ravers in the furry fandom?  Since when?  Oh sure, there's 'RaverFurs' but those are just the same social shutins with glow sticks on webcam.  And 'convention raves' sure as hell don't count.  Seriously, I use RaverFurs as the prime example of a fursona that has traits that the real person wishes they have, that they could easily engage in in real life, but absolutely don't anyway, proving that most furries, tragicly, will invest more effort into 'playing pretend' than ever doing some 'cool thing' in real life.

Now the actual dealings of life are the sub-plot and our main character has gone from the 'Radar' of his army unit fighting conscripts in Iraq to jet setting around the world as the rapidly adapting super agent. While I'd like to draw the conclusion that this is because there was never any plan for Better Days from the beginning, and as it went along Jay felt like he had to keep it 'exciting', I think it actually has more to do with his market.

I liked the way Naylor did the Desert Sheild/Storm thing, I don't think a lot in the fandom would have done it mostly from the angle of the family sitting at home, watching CNN and terrified that this could be the next Vietnam rather than 'Furry Guns Down All The Towel Heads'.  Fisk as a grunt getting his GI Bill just seemed realistic and anything halfway realistic or plausable in the furry fandom is pretty rare.  For a long time, Better Days just seemed very plausable with the must unrealistic part probably being his teacher getting killed.  It just got worse when he actually explains why they killed him, cause they're American Ninja Assasins.

@DJ Izumi: Read Blacksad. It's an actual, legitimate furry comic. Believe it or not.

Actually, I just found out about that the day before Yesterday and have the comics now from my local store, just have been too busy with the Thanksgiving weekend to set down with them.  Moment I read about that comic on wiki when I heard the name mentioned I was like 'Oh man, why didn't I hear about this earlier?'

But then, we're getting off topic, so I'll drop the discussion of other comics. :)
