It seems that people hoping to acquire a room at the main hotel for Rocky Mountain Fur Con (RMFC) have run into a bit of a snag. Apparently, there are no more! Today a
message was posted by the official RMFC Twitter account regarding the issue and later another post was made
updating the situation.
A group calling themselves the
Furry Raiders have purchased an excessive number of rooms in the main hotel, more than their tiny group could possibly use. This purchase seems to have occurred before the official con block
was even available and was done directly with the hotel. The group refuses to give up any of the reserved rooms and have made mention that they may be
selling the rooms themselves, no doubt at a profit.
This is the groups "official statement" Furry Raiders themselves are a group of fairly loathed Colorado Nazi furries who refuse to admit they are such, despite sharing certain
iconography including red armbands with paws in them that they wear to meets. Or at least,
to the ones they are still welcome at.
The group first came into notice a month or two ago on Twitter, due to backlash on their chosen iconography. During this they claimed to be pro tolerance and acceptance. As evidence of this, they listed their membership as including several queers and a "doglover."
