Kickstarter started by one of this year's FAU GoH's, Protocollie, has exposed some amusing failures of the middle-of-nowhere, New Jersey hotel that Piche loves to hold his
ego furry con at.
Apparently, the hotel failed to set up a part of the stage used at the event correctly, causing Protocollie to fall off and injure himself and break a very expensive video camera. The hotel allegedly admitted fault before referring the case to their insurance company, who is said to have immediately told them the claim would be denied,
before investigating it. Protocollie claims the hotel is now denying that anything ever happened.
The Kickstarter also points out "that FA:U runs on thin-to-no margins" which indicates that Dragoneer probably does end up having to pay out-of-pocket to put on his little vanity extravaganza.
Also note that Protocollie had his laptop stolen during the event, out of the ballroom in the middle of the night. Apparently, the security at FA:U is about the same as the security on FA.
