...or so it seems, according to rumors -- and this FurAffinity journal (see below).  As some of you know, it was my stepping down from fChan in June 2005 that left Nadia and Xenofur in charge of the board (they were my handpicked replacements -- Nadia for her at-the-time fair treatment of posters, and Xenofur for previously helping out with fChan technical issues in the past), and it was under Nadia's reign as site admin that fChan became the board it is today.

It's times like this I'm glad I don't associate myself with fChan any more.

I'm sleeping the other night, when Raven comes in to lay down. I wake up, and he says "Nadia's taken over the site."

Wait what?

To make a long story short, Xenofur is too much of a fucking pansy to handle fchan on his own (he openly admits this, just not in so many words) and wanted Sage Nadia to stay around as an advisior. But he never removed her access. So, she never left.

Xeno hid this fact from everyone, as did Nadia.

Skip forward to a few nights ago. The straw that broke the camel's back was apparently that Nadia lost her @ in the moderator channel on IRC. Raven didn't want her to have an @ because, afawk, she wasn't in any sort of power situation.

Oh no, you lost your op, what's the proper response?

b) Get over it

No, seriously, Railfox was badgering me to post something along these lines, but it seems you've beaten me to the punch. Pretty much all of the above is true as far as I'm aware; the site's already lost no less than three staff due to this coup d'etat, due to everyone being understandably full of spite after being lied to this whole time, and suddenly usurped by somebody who was supposedly long bereft of power.

That's right, kids, the Sage Nadia who you all knew and hated back in the day was, in fact, pulling the strings all along and is currently the top dog in the administration of fchan, though she would prefer that none of you actually know that. I think the defining moment, for me, was:

I'm disappointed that I have to take back all the nice things I've said about Xeno.  He's always been a lovable retarded puppy, completely eager to embarass himself and utterly unable to interact with people.  I'd attributed a lot of malice to him that was really just stupidity.  And this is who was holding that puppy's leash.  How anyone could manage those heights of stupidity... some kind of achievement.

The running dash of furries willing to throw themselves into the maw of suck is really very amusing.  I see the scabs are already in place and listed on the main page, though Nadia's name is still a bit absent.  The rest of the fans, they certainly aren't going.  Like Pinkuh said, "they will forget this BS happened in about 6 weeks and go about their daily porn."

Actually, I don't surf fChan outside of the random visit every couple months or so, and I haven't surfed it regularly since I gave up control of the site.  I only mention that the site's down because nobody knows why, and nobody on the admin team's said anything about it AFAIK.

Nadia/Noriko has a history of making petty drama over artwork.  You can expect her to lolcow for you once she brings the system back up.

Okay. I was directed here, and while I do not want to get involved in the drama, I think I have the responsibility to try and explain a little bit more. Sam made her post without my knowledge, and I was rather annoyed with her when I saw it, but I really can't control people, especially someone that close to me. It's done with, it can't be taken back, and all I can do is try to provide some more information from my perspective on why this happened, as it's not as simple as some people think.

A portion of it is my own fault. I don't know all the specifics of why Xeno and Nadia felt I made a bad admin and had to be removed from that position, but I do know some of them. And for the sake of fairness, I will be honest about what I have been told.

It was revealed to me that Xeno and Nadia had been talking for some time about how to handle this situation. Xeno felt that I didn't listen to his opinions very much and tried pushing my ideas on him far too often. There were also some instances when I was rather hard on the staff if someone made an obvious mistake, or wasn't doing something as instructed. I didn't find myself taking things out on them constantly, at least I don't think I did. But the few times it did happen, there was talk that I should be removed. Xeno refused.

Nadia and I did not get along well most of the time, and that may also have played a role, but I cannot be certain. I know the largest part of it seemed to be, from what I was told, that I was making things hard on Xeno due to the previously mentioned factors. But both of them were unsure of how to explain it, so it went unmentioned for a rather long time. It didn't come out until recently, when Nadia explained to me that she had certain access that I did not know about. When I explained to her that I felt it was wrong, and she refused to step down, I told her that I had few choices as to what I could do (in my mind: 1. Leave, 2. Deal with it, 3. Go get advice and wait it out). I refused to tell her what I was thinking, however, and she assumed I was making a threat on the server. That is when I was locked out.

The channel ops things was the icing on the cake for them, but not nearly the full reason as to why this occurred. It was already being discussed and Nadia felt her hand was forced when she misunderstood my comment. Xeno was upset that I asked him to remove the ops from his scripts, which reminded him of all the other times I persuaded him to do things he didn't want to do. Nadia felt I was doing it out of pure spite and not because of my sense of protocol and organization. A lot of misunderstandings all around, which were never able to truly be rectified.

So I am not blameless. I wasn't the grand admin some people think I was, I just tried my best to do what I thought was best for the site. It just wasn't the sort of thing Xeno and Nadia agreed with and they felt it was wrong. And really, I don't have many reasons to complain, since the site legally belongs to the server owner, and he had given control over to them. So it was really their call. Right or wrong really isn't the issue. They just did what they felt needed to be done. I had the option to stay around if I took a demotion to Senior Mod, which would have meant a demotion for Gravecat, I assume. I couldn't justify it, or the frustration involved, so I decided it was best to just leave.

So, bottom line: It wasn't some random thing, and it wasn't based on one or two events. It was based off a feeling that I wasn't good in the position I was in due to some of the mistakes I had made. There may be other things, but if so, I don't recall what they are or was not made aware of them.

Hopefully all of this can calm down now and everyone can just go back to whatever they were interested in beforehand. I'm only making this post in an attempt to explain things better and in an act of good will. If I left something out, Xeno and Nadia can feel free to explain it at a later time.

I must also say I find it interesting that it is being referred to as a coup. I also find it odd how the claims are based on speculation as to the cause. Mostly, what is being spread, had almost nothing to do with the actual reasons. They only reinforced my views as to the reasoning we made the choice.
But, more on that later, I have a silk blouse to hand wash.

I believe the coup remarks were made in support of a popular overthrow of the current fchan administration, namely you and Xenofur.  Just taking what Samiya said into context.  Certainly you'd understand that, being for the social good and all.  As it stands all the intelligent users have long since fled fchan.  You seem to be down a number of talented moderators.  And speaking of that, Kelly Price spends an inordinate time there, why not ask him how to run your site?  He'd be more than happy to give you a dissertation.  You could even replace Xeno, he's been a constant embarassment.  Discretion was apparently not part of his education.

We all sincerely hope you stay well away from the users and any public relations regarding the site.  Raven had been and I hope will continue doing a very good job with that.  Your heavy-fisted fuckery with the site in the past, as well as your work at FurBid, has taught everyone with a pulse to steer well clear of you on a personal level.  People who've crossed your path have been burned.  I also request you keep your damage confined to those two sites.  Under your wise leadership fchan went from a friendly and well-run imageboard to a temporary image hosting service with severe restrictions and rules.  It's cold, dead, and sterile with none but the most inane of thought processes.  You've given other art boards and auction sites an example of what not to become, and I thank you, but please refrain from infecting anything else.

Sorry to hear you aren't around any longer.  The rest of us'd been expecting you'd take over once Xeno's madness sunk in a little deeper and finally rendered him unable to perform daily tasks.  You've no reason to be apologetic for trying your best in those conditions, hell, I'm pleased you managed to stick around so long under the administration of a mildly damaged German and a paranoid psycho hosebeast.  Since you were part of staff?  Everyone is supposed to be working together.  There is no way you should ever apologize for pushing a good idea into implementation.  They have no excuse for assuming you'd attack the site, for locking you out, or for "giving you the second chance" to become their absolute bitch.  You may not have been perfect, you've made mistakes, but you don't owe them a single nice word or even the time of day.

Raven, you have no reason to apologize. Reading your explanation had given me the impression that you might have been a bit pussy-whipped, I am glad you are out of their grasp now. You did what you felt was right, you had the assertiveness and initiative none of the other guys running the site did, while Xenofur and Nadia are worried about their diminishing influence in the site.

fChan is back up.  Unsurprisingly, there's no mention of Nadia still being an admin anywhere on the site.

Typical furry shadow president admin shit. Most large sites have at least one guy or girl who has a heavy hand in affairs without it being let on anywhere... except, God forbid, when you cross them.

[Yesterday]

Nadia now has WikiFur under her thumb -- after an anonymous editor changed her WikiFur article to point out the fact that she wrote the whole thing, Nadia quickly changed it back to her entirely-self-written article.  A war of edits ensued until Nadia got GreenReaper to lock the article and revert it back to her self-serving article.

At the time of this post, GreenReaper refuses to say if he'll let Nadia's article stand as she wrote it, or if he'll bow to common sense and let other people edit it without Nadia's constant interference.
