Well, you know what they say about imitation . . . but hey, if they can pull it off, more power to them.

Getting it from Photoshop to HTML will require some work, though, and I suspect some users might not like the way fixed-width restricts how much of their screen can be used, unless they're clever about it.

someone brought this up sometime last year (last time the UI update was PR'd). dragoneer's response was approximately "well we'll do a fluid design and a fixed-width design and convert the one to the other"

for the idiots in the audience, this is not something you can do. if you think you can do this, you are most likely wrong. if you do do this, you're creating an unmaintainable mess.

One of the admins claim this -is- fluid (so fluid it's literally the same exact size and scale in every screenshot ever produced)

As for the backdrops, I forgot about this tweet: https://twitter.com/#!/Dragoneer/sta...15366396649472 They are the default theme, but there will be another theme with just the banner image and plain background. Also, remember that the page resizes dynamically, so that 4 thumbnail across image could be 8 thumbnails across if your browser window is wide enough so then they probably wouldn't be as in your face as they look in the preview. But more choice is always good.

So anyone want to take bets on how many XSS exploits a UI update would produce?

If anyone can make a site less secure just by updating the front-end of a site, it's probably FA.
