www.furaffinity.net/user/crassus/ Has helped at convention room parties for softpaw magazine:

"helping Jery form 100+ person open-door Softpaw room parties with pizza at AC"

He wrote a comic, which Shiuk drew, for Softpaw magazine:

"Tyler's Trouble", a gay-content comic written by Crassus and drawn by Shiuk"

He's also a pro-paedophile activist:

"He also was the host of the now-defunct Pedologues podcast. "Rookiee" came somewhat into prominence when he was banned from Wikipedia for attacking pedophile victim Justin Berry, after Berry himself contacted Wikipedia's administration regarding Rookiee's attacks upon him. He was eventually unbanned by Wikipedia and then continued to edit pedophile-related articles with his pedophile propaganda. Later he would be re-banned due to the campaign by Perverted-Justice.com against him."

who groomed a 13 year old boy in California:

“Cole spent a year and a half grooming a young male using the online handle "Aqua." Aqua turned out to be a nearby thirteen year old California boy. Cole had "Aqua" (real name withheld for privacy reasons) participate in his podcast on multiple occasions, using the child to promote his view of pederasty.”

Crassus in his own words:

“I am pedosexual, and I am PROUD to be pedosexual. I am a childlover. I am a boylover. I am a girllover.”

In a journal on FA, posted only a week ago, he mentions in it:

"whatever helps popularize and "make cool" age disparity in relationships is fine by me”

Note that the RL name of Crassus is linked there with his handle + the wikisposure article mentions that he was running a furry website making tails and that has his handles which include crassusd i.e Crassus Destanion

His FA journal reads to me mostly as "hurf durf young people today in furry are so disrespectful to the old freaks of the 80's and 90's". Note mention of the Burned furs:

I can't help but notice how the term "Shota" crept into the furry vernacular.

Don't get me wrong... whatever helps popularize and "make cool" age disparity in relationships is fine by me, so it's not a huge deal. It's just that everytime I hear it, my OCD side feels a little off. It's like having someone pinprick you on the shoulder repeatedly: While it doesn't cause lifelong damage, it's something you wish would stop.

Seriously. Shota, although I'm a big fan of it, is not a term historically used by furs to describe furry cubs, cublovers, or anything "furry." Back during my days as Treehouse administrator on Taps, we simply just called it "cubs." Back during the early FC conventions, the rest of us cublovers would hang out on a Friday evening and have pizza, and never once would "shota" escape our lips.

(Incidentally, I can't begin to tell you how hilarious all the "OMFG THE FURRY CUB PEOPLE ARE HAVING A SECRET MEETING" rumors were back in those days. Meanwhile, here we were just kicking back and having pizza. God, I love conspiracies. Little would I know that 7 years later I would be helping Jery form 100+ person open-door Softpaw room parties with pizza at AC. Ain't it weird how life is sometimes?)

Anyways, the problem with the term is that it's coming from another fandom whose perception of "shota" is completely different. Not that that's bad; I always love a little trade of ideas between cultures. What's different? Well, let me ask you: what's the difference between the mainstream media's interpretation of "furry" versus what we really are?

The concept of "being a cub" and "being a boy" is just as different as "being a furry" and "being a human." That is to say, the internal, psychological feeling you get, separating yourself from the human race through trans-human expression is the element that's missing from "shota."

So again, I guess my real beef is that "human" is creeping into "furry." It's just seeping in little by little as we grow and become more "cool" to everyone else. As this happens, we as a fandom are losing bits and pieces of what we once were. So then I guess it all comes back to that OTHER old argument of "is this a good thing or a bad thing?"

The newer furs coming into the scene don't see the difference, and they don't know their own fandom's history. While it's all about having fun and being accepted, what's considered "acceptable" vs. "taboo" is changing. And it's changing all because what people think of as "furry" is changing, and I'm afraid of us "oldfags" losing our home that we once knew simply due to someone else's ignorance over where they came from and what was given to them. This little world we know as the furry fandom gave me a place for me to start feeling good about myself and being able to talk freely about who I am and what I am, and it's slipping away for the sake of being cool and fitting in.

But then again, I guess I'm just "getting old" so I deserve to be shoved out with the mail like the generation before me... oh wait, I forgot. We didn't shove the 1980's generation furs in the 1990's. We respected them. Or at least *I* did. (With the exception of those nasty burned furs...)

"What's a burned fur?"

... Ugh, forget it.

This is what he thought of the rules being changed on pounced.org so as to bar anyone from under 18 from using it:

Ah, the joys of ageism and segregation based on silly fears and false ideals of innocence. Praise Jesus. Pass the ammunition.

It's truly a shame when so many teens need to be disenfranchised from the fandom by an increasing sense of paranoia and fear because a group of assholes who like to cause trouble for others based on their own moralistic agenda.

I already know a handful of teens planning on faking their age. And no, I'm not going to report them. More power to them, in my opinion. That's how they'll "speak out" about this issue. You're creating more of a legal trouble for yourself by segregating than you are by allowing them. even MySpace doesn't make for such drastic measures. Heh. They know that most of their client base is exactly that demographic.

Keeping them safe? You're hurting them by keeping them safe.

He isn't in prison, because nobody has any real proof to present.

Some months ago we offered a room to rent.  One of the people who replied to the offer was a local 16-year old furry, who wanted to move out of the studio (single room) apartment he shared with another furry.  There was an interview, and unfortunately this 16 year old's roommate came along.  We found Crassus to be loud, self-centered, argumentative, and completely detached from reality.  With some financial assistance from his mother, he expected to be able to buy a real house for around $30,000, he thought, though he hadn't done any research into house prices.  He'd have furries move in and build a real community, he thought; he had this entire unrealistic vision built up where he'd be the leader of a household of nubile young animal people.

On another night we managed to interview the prospective housemate alone, and while he seemed intelligent and eager to move away from Crassus, he never seemed able to.  He claimed to be ready to take the room that night, just pending what Crassus thought -- see, Crassus wouldn't be able to afford that studio apartment on his own, so it'd be terrible to just move out and leave Crassus in that situation, he thought.  A few months passed and he never moved in, eventually we lost all contact with him, so I'm not sure if he ever managed to leave Crassus or not.

Crassus is still around and active in the local furry community, he attends meets and by rumor he has a pack of younger boys who pal around town with him.  Apparently they all favor Victorian cosplay, Crassus and the roommate I talked to were definitely into wearing black suits as casual wear.  And Crassus runs the "Ageplayers Unite" group on f-list.  Beyond this, he's rather low key.  You'd need to find one of his former lovers who are willing to admit they had relations with Crassus, and are willing to bring it to the police.

loud, self-centered, argumentative, and completely detached from reality.

I guess that would fit in with his deciding to make those pedologue podcasts and boasting about being a pedosexual.

The word on livejournal is that when Crassus was in his early 20s, he had sexual intercourse with several then-underage teenager furries, while living in Southern California, and the SoCal furries at that time were prepared to tolerate this. It was further alleged that, some years later, Crassus turned up to the SoCAl "Fur-B-Que" party with a child: his godson, in tow, child protective services having placed the child in his custody(!). Apparently, some of his victims were extremely concerned by this and contacted child protection services. It's unknown what resulted but rumour had it that the child he was grooming was that one.

It's been further alleged that rumours have been heard to the effect that Shiuk refused to draw the second part of Crassus's story for softpaw due to learning unpleasant facts about Crassus.

Very sobering stuff.  :/

Wow, sounds like he'd get along great with ol Caladon, who has spoken many a time to many a folk about wanting to do the same.  Sounds like they have the same kinds of delusions, as well.

In case I missed it in the first couple posts, how old is this guy?

That's probably our fault.  The spare room we were renting out used to be Shiuk's.

In case I missed it in the first couple posts, how old is this guy?

DOB October 23, 1977.  He couldn't possibly pass for anyone younger than 30.

What I'd like to know is, why in the world is (or was -- it's been yanked) a 'cub' porn rag listed on the Star Wars wiki? Is the resemblance between 'Rookiee' and 'Wookiee' more than a coincidence? D:

Every few months, I'm reminded that the wordfilter exists.  And every time I'm reminded, I just smile my ass off.
