Ahhh, that's probably true.  I don't pay too much attention to that scene, but considering that DJing doesn't exactly have a white-collar aura about it, I'm sure that a lot of the people who aren't making enough money to quit giving a shit about what their job title is don't mind sugar-coating it a bit.

Maybe the goggles are his oh-so-edgy version of over-the-glasses shades?  I'd imagine that at his level of pasty whiteness, he'd need something a little more powerful than those purple specs to keep his retinas from being destroyed by any amount of natural light.

Every DJ I personally know outside the fandom does it as a part time job, and they're fully aware that their only purpose at that job is to play songs. These are the people I know in person, but as of the late 90s people seemed to think that putting "DJ" in front of your name is akin to being knighted. That's gotten passe, but furries are always a decade and a half behind.

Oh God... I saw that on wtf_fa and pretty much lost my appetite.

At what point does one's judgment become so skewed that they say to themselves, "posting a picture of my repulsive-to-the-general-public self is a good idea"?  FA had a big shit-fit a few years back because fatfurs were posting pictures of their grotesque naked bellies, so they prohibited doing such things.  Isn't this kind of along those same lines?
