The (personal) journal in which Neer says they are sorry and that they fucked up.

http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6853468/#cid:46355616

Its mostly a mix of "this is hard, boo hoo me" and We're Working On It!

Newsflash, I think the reservoir of tears for you has long since run dry. You're in big boy world now, saying I'm sorry doesn't fix shit.

*edit* If Neer had any culture, he'd have realized he was likened to a tyranical man/worm abomination. Or maybe Dune is just too nerdy.

Aw, he thinks he still has a mostly positive reputation. How cute. Guess that's what happens when you live your life in an echo chamber surrounded by sycophants.

They're still trying to get people to believe folders are coming.

"Folders are the primary concern, then we're going to focus on submission updates (improving stories, music), improving user and admin tools (making reporting better) and try to focus on changes like that.

Username changes are high on the list, but requires some additional changes/tweaks than just a username change (e.g. "I've move accounts to..."), allowing old names to forward to the new for a period of time and some additional changes on the database."

(I forgot how to make quotes, don't judge me)

A few more years and folders will have taken longer to implement than Duke Nukem Forever.

Was this before or after some other site implemented print-on-demand and piche declared that FA would never do it?

One of the FA: United ad available at Anthrocon!

I can confirm having seen FA: U ads featuring IMVU in person.

*edit* Confirmed that the ads are not official.

Dragoneer has now started the optimism part of his cycle, since he recently attended a convention:

Quote from: Dragoneer
After I get back from AC I'm grinding on FA and art projects. So much excite. So many plans. Need to stock up on caffeine.

However even his shrinking band of brown-nosers are dimly aware what Dragoneer's statements, claims and promises are worth:

Quote from: Voreo_Sabrae
@Dragoneer careful, bad luck seems to throw your way when you say things like this... just something i've noticed , eep

I overheard an Anthrocon director talking about these ads... It sounds like a ~certain someone~ threw a fit over them and demanded they be removed.

It was the director's opinion that they were "fucking hilarious". It wasn't clear what happened to them, but I wouldn't doubt that Princess Piche and Sciggles waddled around the convention center collecting the ones they could find.

Explains why I couldn't find them anymore when I was trying to towards the end of the con.

Sean was sitting behind the Fur The More table in the dealer room for a lot of the con. That's certainly makes *me* want to go to Fur The More.
We tried, we failed.

Dragoneer was so angry with those flyers that he ripped one of them up and posted a picture of the pieces on his twitter, twice:

&

Dragoneer also claimed to be "working on" getting the malware filled ads removed:

You have to wonder how little he got from the FA deal and how large his debt is.

I noticed this post on the FA forums, by someone who had complained to IMVU:

Quote from: Sylver
I contacted IMVU about the poor management of FA and simply asked for the ability to convey my concerns with them. I only asked for the ability to talk with them so I could express my concerns. They told me twice that they had nothing to do with FA, except to provide Neer with resources. They tried telling me to submit a trouble ticket on FA, and then the second time told me to message Neer himself about my concerns about his management. That's like telling someone to report a corrupt police officer, to the corrupt police officer in question (not implying anything with this analogy). It basically translates to "We don't care. Let's sweep it under the rug."

From my experience, I doubt they will care in the slightest =/ Could be wrong though.

That stance honestly doesn't make much sense from a well run company... Thus, I am assuming IMVU is not a well run company.

it's NEVER a well run company
even their own userbase dont like em so much as often problems they have are out right ignored and "more ads" are often their answer to problems.

I am not at all surprised the people who would think buying FA is a fucking good idea is run much like FA.

The end of the year is fast approaching, and it seems perhaps IMVU isn't happy with the revenue FA has been generating.

The site announced yesterday that Google Surveys, which I often see acting as a way for news websites to generate revenue by preventing you from reading an article for "free", are being imposed on guests before they can view artwork.
Quote
== SURVEYS
We've implemented Google Surveys on the site. These surveys are a method to help raise money for the site. We understand the last thing the community wants is more advertising, and we've implemented the surveys with that in mind to keep them as minimally intrusive as possible.

1) Surveys ONLY display for guests. If you are logged in the surveys WILL NOT display, thus making them invisible for the majority of the site.
2) Surveys ONLY display on submission pages. That means if you visit the site while logged out, are logging in or registering for the site you will not be prompted by the surveys. We want them to be as minimally intrusive as possible.
2) Surveys ONLY display once per 24 hours. If you complete a survey, or opt out, you will not be prompted again. It's also one-click to dismiss.

A site can earn anywhere between $0.05 and $0.50 per submitted survey. Surely that will create synergy in IMVU's Profit Streams.
