Yeah, Weasyl has such a system.

And even if they didn't, there are external commission process management sites, so the artists just one of those while using FA for promotion, and the band plays on. Nothing will kill FA at this point other than the staff gangraping someone (on video, witnesses or forensic evidence would be disregarded), or IMVU getting bored and shutting it down.

*Speaking* of which, this isn't dramatastic or anything, but this is new and curious. FA is running ads on Twitter. In this case, for FA:U:

Weasyl and FA both have "Commission" systems that are basically glorified price lists. Weasyl at least has the ability to search through them. Neither manage the commission process which is the problem. A system like would make more sense on an art site because it streamlines the entire process, right down to posting the art for everyone to see.

FA/Piche has been really going all-out to promote FA:U (more than usual) which makes me wonder if their relocation to Virginia failed to impress anyone and their pre-reg numbers are way down.

There's actually some promising movement in artists being able to abandon FA because "That's where the money is." has shown some promising growth and I'm seeing more artists moving their commissioning setup to it.

I've been saying it for years. A commission marketplace and management system is going to be what kills FA. But Weasyl prioritized switching off bbcode to markup before going dormant and Big Dildo/FurryNetwork's commission management tool seems to be stuck in development hell.

I'm really fuckin' lost on this one... Doesn't IMVU already pay him to do this? Does... does he work for them for free???

Hey there! I'm Dragoneer, site director for Fur Affinity. I'm a creature of the internet that survives on caffeine and white cheddar popcorn. Each coffee helps fuel my late night development on FA's Beta and drawing art, and prevents me from experiencing the prolonged nightmare that is sleep.

Help fuel Beta dev with a fresh, piping hot cuppa joe today. =)

As of this writing, He's been "bought" 25 "coffees" which adds up to roughly $75. This is, however, only 6% of his goal.

We can't have furry drama without the FurAffinity administration really jamming their proverbial dick into the proverbial hornet's nest.

Scorch's journal calling out Deo was reported to FurAffinity administrators, likely by a couple users since it was brought up when the journal was posted. A week later FA admins finally got around to seeing the tickets and replied to at least one report with some bizarre claim that harassment rules are only enforced now when the subject of the harassment reports it. They then proceeded to give Scorch a ban that couldn't have been more than 24 hours long, and yanked down the offending journal, but left his many comments calling out Deo on other journals.

Dragoneer seems to have some sort of history with Scorch. You can find him in the replies to Scorch's old journals (and BobSkunk alleges there was more in now-deleted journals). Given that he was tweeted at when this started and it took a week to get around to doing anything about it, one can only assume Scorch is the latest of Dragoneer's buddies to get some special treatment when it comes to the site rules.

A 24 hour ban is less than Sciggles was banned for when she posted a callout journal directed at another artist years ago.

The dumpster fire that is RMFC continues to burn after a post made by the Colorado Furries group erupted into a firestorm of drama over the Furry Raiders and 2gryphon's Anthrocon show being canceled, mostly fueled by a member of RMFC's leadership (Scorch).

During this time it was (re?)discovered that the CEO of the company behind RMFC is a registered sex offender, and of course it involves a minor.

2 tweeted out that he "collapsed in the Denver airport this morning" and is now in the hospital. Supposedly he is suffering from "malnutrition, overwork and stress."

It sure is a lot of WORK sitting around making Lets Plays while collecting money from Patreon (In fact, he posted a tweet linking to one 30 minutes after saying he was in the ER.) It sounds like not having to come up with material for the world's largest furry con is just what the doctor ordered!!!

Twitter user Firr pointed out something worth mentioning in the original tweet about this. The account 2 is replying to (@0ffensiveTweets) never mentioned him and he replied two minutes later. So it's probably his sockpuppet.

This guy is so petty and sad.

There have been some rumors circulating Viv IRC around this the past few days, but it is now official:

Anthrocon's board, reportedly much to the chagrin of Kage, voted to remove 2 from the schedule at the con after several years worth of bizarre behavior from him on social media. Naturally this is the SJW's fault.

Between this and what I can only assume is a reference to the Tonic bar closing, some furries are wondering "Why even go?" because this fandom revolves around the cult of personality of a fandom "comic" and overpriced, watered down alcohol.

2 further tried to sway his fan's emotional response by mentioning how the popular fursuiter Telephone had recently called him "in tears" saying she "didn't feel welcome at Anthrocon anymore". My informants have told me this may have something to do with Telephone finding out that Anthrocon won't give her what amount to "exclusive rights" to host "angel dragon" panels (the species she created).

The Furry Raiders have voiced their support for 2 in these trying times.

There have been some other rumblings over this regarding Kage fighting about this with the Board, which is certainly one of the first times we've heard of the board not rubber stamping his ideas without pushback. Within the past few years there has been a few changes on the board, and it's been theorized that this could be the first sign that an upheaval may be beginning.

Brett Durrett, the CEO of IMVU who orchestrated the acquisition of FA, is no longer with the company. There is no mention why, but now he has more time to go "backpacking".

So if FA suddenly disappears, you'll know they have a new CEO who has a shred of common sense.

As you can see, the page contains little helpful information, instead opting to textwall you with poorly formatted filler copy and classic Dragoneer LOL XD random *spork* maymays. They probably would have been better off just having "FUCK YOU" in 200pt font centered in the middle of the page. Need help? Furaffinity is a cow!! XDXDXDXDXDXD

Well folks, it's been well over a year since this post, certainly they've finished the help page by now, right?

There's no obvious connection to the PA cases, but Saratoga Springs isn't THAT far away...

Fenske's FA is back online as of tonight, with a recently posted admin notice from quoting_mungo telling people to stop leaving nasty shouts. Nobody has left a nasty shout since the profile was disabled last week (obviously), making me think this is another administrative blunder by the crack team of FA admins.

There are a few sketches and some colored pieces of art from Gideon in his gallery. I count 5, plus some art he made with Gideon art that wasn't seemingly drawn specifically for him.

It appears that over the past couple of months, the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office has arrested a number of furries in connection with the sexual assault of a minor. According to the AG, the minor was 9 years old when this all began.

The arrested include:

  • Kenneth C. Fenske (Believed to be LupineFoxes on FA, who's account briefly hosted a journal talking about being accused of "something horrible" before the account got hidden around 11PM EST Saturday.), 57, of 2724 North Old Bethlehem Pike, Quakertown, arrested Friday and charged with multiple counts of child rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, and unlawful contact with a minor. Each of the charges are first-degree felonies. Fenske was arraigned before a Bucks County magistrate and ordered held on $750,000 bail.
  • David Parker, 38, of Stroudsburg, Monroe County, faces charges of child rape and related counts, including possession of child pornography.
  • Jeffrey Harvey, 40, of West Wyoming, Luzerne County, has been arrested and charged in Lackawanna County with unlawful contact with a minor, criminal use of a cell phone, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and statutory sexual assault.
  • Craig Knox, who was arrested and charged with sexual offenses in Virginia. He has been extradited to Pennsylvania, where he is being held in Luzerne County.
  • Stephen Taylor has also been arrested in Virginia in connection with the case.

The arrests started in November with the arrest of Craig Knox. The AG says there will "likely be more arrests."

In somewhat related news, the bar across the street from the Westin is shutting down.

Where will all the furries drink now??

No one hates the idea of the parade itself. They hate that it takes hours of standing around in suit before it starts and that immediately afterward they do their best to force you to stand around for the fursuit photo.  Non participants hate that it disrupts the conspace and makes doing anything at the con impossible while its happening. These are problems that could fixed so that everyone could be happy, if only the people running the event werent morons.

The photo comes before the parade, but close enough. All the complaints I've heard boil down to:

- Fursuiters who hate having to stand around for an hour for the photo while they wait for "stragglers", then have to wait as the Dorsai yell at people trying to get everyone in the shot, followed by standing around for another hour or so waiting their turn to join the parade and get out of the room.

- Attendees who get trapped in part of the convention center (or are restricted from getting into it) as the parade snakes through it, getting yelled at by the Dorsai for trying to cross the parade route to get out.

And that's why other conventions stopped doing parades. MFF's parade tied up too much of the hotel and caused problems with people trying to get to the front desk. BLFC was restricted from having a parade by their venue because it would impede guest access to multiple parts of the casino/resort.

Kage/AC would rather please the "City" and a tenth of one percent of the population of Allegheny County, at the cost of Anthrocon attendees having an unpleasant convention experience. This isn't "anti-parade" or "anti-creativity", it's acknowledging that the thing has become a logistical nightmare, and that the convention perpetrates this nightmare for no real reason other than it causes TV crews to show up and impresses a very small percentage of the population of Pittsburgh.

There's just something more laid back about MFF's atmosphere to me. It doesn't help that AC keeps relocating the Zoo to a concrete brick.

Kage tweeted during the con this year that "nobody" was using the zoo, questioning if they should have it next year. Responses were mixed, with a lot of people suggesting it be moved back to the Westin (shot down) or moved into Hall A (the unused hall next to the Dealers Den, shot down because "that's where the fursuit group photo happens" among others). Good suggestions to swap registration (the present location of which interferes with getting into the Dealers Den) and the Zoo seemed to go ignored.

So in reality, it's just more of Kage/Anthrocon refusing to change. MFF cut the parade and fursuit photo this year and nobody really cared. Anthrocon insists on having it because ????????they always have???????

I also heard a rumor that the parade might expand next year because the City is pushing for a longer outdoors portion, and we all know Kage can't say no to the city.

During the closing ceremonies of Midwest FurFest on Sunday, it was announced that attendance had jumped to 7,075, well above last year's attendance of 5,606 and just 235 fewer people than Anthrocon 2016.

Rumors that MFF was near or had surpassed Anthrocon were spreading well before the official announcement was made, which prompted Anthrocon to go into damage control mode, allegedly emailing staffers a two page letter on Friday that attempted to spin this as normal. People on Twitter were quick to crunch the numbers and predict that, based on the growth over the past couple years, Midwest FurFest 2017 will have more attendees than Anthrocon 2017.

I personally heard quite a few people saying that they were considering skipping Anthrocon 2017 as they would rather reallocate the funds they'd spend there into attending MFF 2017. Additionally, there seems to be a fairly widespread dissatisfaction with Anthrocon in recent years for becoming "too boring", among other things. That and the constant "scandal" (and resulting boycott) that pops up every time 2gryphon goes off and insults a group of people may very well spell trouble for Anthrocon's 2017 attendance numbers, unless Kage gets on TV and convinces more "outsiders" to check out the convention (I noticed a significant number of "normies" wandering around with one-day badges following the parade this year).

2017 will be an interesting year for furry conventions.

Why the 6 month delay in sharing?  Read the initial 2012 post and wasn't in disbelief... I'm aware of an incident of a home raid and subsequent surveillance including at a fur con. (No connection to this or to porn).

Only found out about it yesterday when combing through his tweets about Donald Trump-related protests, when he replied to someone with something along the lines of "Toast and I broke up and he is in federal prison now." I don't know if he ever shared much more about it outside of the YouTube stream

Reviving this because of recent developments that he managed to somehow keep quiet.

Toast the Rabbit, 2's ex boyfriend, is currently incarcerated in federal prison on charges relating to... possession of child pornography. He was arrested in May of this year. 2 explains what happened in this video, but if you don't want to listen, 2 claims that Toast, 4 years ago (hmmmmmmm, look how old this thread is!), was trying to find material to "shock" him ("the most disgusting, shocking things he could find") and downloaded a large zip file from a "seedy porn site" that contained child pornography. 2 claims Toast deleted the files immediately, but that the feds spent 4 years "investigating" this and then decided to arrest him in May for it.

Of course, he conveniently left that detail out 4 years ago. He never mentions the raid in his explanation, simply that the file was downloaded then.

In April and May, authorities in Colorado arrested 40 suspected child sexual predators, concentrating on "offenders who possess, manufacture and distribute child pornography; engage in online enticement of children for sexual purposes; engage in the commercial sexual exploitation of children (commonly referred to as child prostitution); and engage in child sex tourism (traveling abroad for the purpose of sexually abusing foreign children)." It's unknown if Toast was among the 40 or if this was a separate incident.

Apologies for the necro, but it seems like Sciggles has had the admin title removed from her account. Has that always been the case, and is she still a site admin but only administrates through one of the proxy accounts, or does this mean that she was actually cut off?

Sciggles is the only non-moderator staff member who uses a secondary account as their "admin account". I don't get it but I don't get her much at all either.
